After upgrading to new firebird version 2.5.4 I am facing the same problem, I was able to connect to my database at design time when I use this dll C: Program Files Firebird Firebird_2_5_4 WOW64 fbclient.dll but when I run the application (without debugging) and try to use same dll I get error 'cannot load fbclient.dll' If I hard coded the path to: C: Program Files Firebird Firebird_2_5_4 bin fbclient.dll I was able to connect!! Is it the dll under WOW64 is the 64bit version and I should be able to connect at run time to this dll? Why the contrary is happening?
